TINE

Privacy policy · 2 September 2026

The short version

Tine collects nothing, stores nothing about you, and sends nothing anywhere. It has no analytics, no advertising, no third-party code, no account, and no network connection of any kind.

The microphone

The tuner needs the microphone, because reading the pitch of a note means listening to it. That audio is analysed in memory, one fraction of a second at a time, and discarded immediately. It is never written to disk, never recorded, never uploaded, and never accessible to anyone including the developer.

The microphone is only open while the Tuner tab is on screen. Switching to the Metronome, or leaving the app, closes it. Declining the permission is fine: the metronome works normally without it.

What is stored on your device

Your chosen instrument, reference pitch, tempo, time signature and subdivision, so the app is where you left it next time. These stay on the device and are removed when you delete the app.

Children

Tine is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. It collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes

If this policy ever changes it will be because the app gained a feature that needed it, and the change will be described here with a new date.
